In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete, and yet life is ever changing. There is no beginning and no end, only a constant cycling and recycling of experiences.
Louise Hay
I begin my latest blog with a quote by the great metaphysical teacher Louise Hay, who made her transition to the Other Side yesterday. I first read this quote years ago in her book, You Can Heal Your Life, which I have consulted numerous times when trying to understand the metaphysical cause of dis-ease. Researching the thought patterns that create perfect health actually led me to study Reiki and later Tong Ren. I am convinced that the knowledge I gained of energy healing helped to transform me into a more sensitive musician. Approximately three-quarters of my home library consists of Hayhouse books, so to say that Ms. Hay’s efforts changed my thinking is a bit of an understatement. Ironically, she passed two years to the day after Dr. Wayne Dyer made his transition. It was because of Dr. Dyer’s Facebook recommendation that I self-published Mirror of the Soul: A Flutist’s Reflections with Balboa Press. Balboa is a division of Hayhouse, and I have nothing but good things to say about the publishing process and could not be happier with the final product. Thank you, Louise!
I have always been fascinated with the concept of infinity and chronological time. I devote the first chapter of my book to my thoughts about the nature of time and eternity. I believe we can tap into the “wisdom of the ages” when we focus on the “now” and expanding the divine spark within. It is present in everyone and can be felt as the center of pure love. “I Am” is with us, and we can feel it when time is temporarily suspended. I try to listen to my heart because I believe that the Divine lives in the chambers of the heart. Louise Hay said that the heart is a symbol of love and “the blood represents joy, so the heart lovingly pumps joy throughout our bodies.” There is no greater reason to follow your heart.
I followed my heart recently and married the love of my life in July. Every aspect of our wedding was perfect – from the ceremony to the reception. Unlike most brides, I never went into panic mode as I was planning the details of the wedding. I was always pretty laid back about everything working out because I would ask Archangel Michael for signs that I was on the right track, and he always obliged. Everything happens in divine-right order for our highest good. I had been praying for over a decade for the right person to come into my life and spent the entire year before I met my husband writing my book. When I began the writing process, I only knew what musical compositions I would analyze and had no idea what the title of the text would be or what the chapters would discuss. I did know, however, that I would try to reconcile my traditional Catholic upbringing with the knowledge I had gained through the New Thought Movement. As I tried to put together an outline, I felt the need to start analyzing the New Jerusalem Bible. As I perused the text, I discovered that some of what I read in New Age spirituality books mirrored the words of Jesus in the New Testament. I was fascinated by the five roles of Jesus and decided to devote five chapters to the five roles. The information came together so easily that I knew I was on the right track. I would just finish typing a paragraph, and I would magically be led to the information I needed for the next one. I literally felt the hand of the Divine guiding me throughout the process. There was tremendous symbolism in the number five as well: 5 roles of Jesus, 5 books of the Torah, 5 parts of the Mass Ordinary, 5 wounds of Christ as he hung on the cross, 5 mysteries of Christ, 5 fingers of our hand, which form the Hebrew name for Jesus (Yeshua), and the perfect fifth musical interval, which sound healers use to bring energetic balance back to the body. As a certified Reiki master since 2002, I now knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that hands-on healing worked because our fingers form the name of Jesus, and we can thus channel that healing energy in His name. When the text was complete, my faith had deepened. Discovering Balboa Press was also a Godsend because I would have to tap into my inner Italian Stallion to defend so much of the material I had written about.
As my book, Mirror of the Soul, was going into production, I met my husband, my mirror on every possible level. On our first date, I remember telling him I had just purchased a collection of Rocky movies and was in the process of watching one after another. He is a huge Rocky fan, so we chatted about that and lost all track of time. Time would prove that he was my perfect match. Everything happens in divine-right timing. Our wedding was the happiest day of my life. I gifted my husband with a gold cross medal, inscribed with the Lord’s Prayer. The engraving on the back reads, My One, My Heart, July 15, 2017. This week, I was re-reading Kathleen McGowan’s book, The Source of Miracles: 7 Steps to Transforming Your Life Through the Lord’s Prayer. She discusses how the lines of the Lord’s Prayer correspond to the rose with six petals labyrinth in Chartres Cathedral. Those six petals are faith, surrender, service, abundance, forgiveness and overcoming. It is a road map to creating an authentic life. My husband is my road map to authenticity. I love the reference to the labyrinth because I am a huge Jim Henson and George Lucas fan, and they both collaborated on the movie Labyrinth, which contains some stunning puppetry and special effects. I devote a chapter in my book to pop culture and how it mirrors the highest ideals of the Creator, so the Muppets and Star Wars make an appearance, too!
We have been married less than two months, and one of my cousins who was a guest at our celebration died this week. I am grateful she could share our joy because she had been suffering with colon cancer for years. My 101 year old grandmother was also able to attend our ceremony but could not make it to the reception. My heart overflows with gratitude for her presence, and our photographer captured the poignancy of those moments. Memories are precious, and I have stored more perfect moments from that day in my heart and soul to carry me through this life and beyond. My grandma is also preparing to transition to the next life. She has been lingering between worlds for months now but recently has been seeing Jesus and asking Him to take her home. My grandpa is beckoning to her, but she is not quite ready to leave. I am trying to prepare myself for this loss, but by the grace of God, I have not lost a member of my family in 38 years. My heart knows that love endures forever. Love created time and surpasses it. My husband and I often say to each other, “I love you always and forever.” The last time I visited my grandma in the nursing home she said, “I have always loved you, Tania, and always will.” In the infinity of life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete. So be it, so it is!
